Shakib al Hasan is back in the cricket field after he got banned for one year. The ICC had banned Shakib al Hasan for two years, with one year of that punishment suspended after he admitted three charges of disobeying the ICC anti-corruption code as he had to learn the lessons the most difficult way possible. The 34 years old Shakib al Hasan is a Bangladesh International cricketer born in Magura district, Bangladesh. He was part of Kolkata Knight Riders title winning campaign in the years 2012 and 2014 by playing just three matches for Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2019 before the ban that caused his dismissal from the game. He is a no.1 all rounder in the three formats of the game in 2015 as he is also considered one of the crickets skillful all rounder. Shakib said he is ready to play any role that Kolkata Knight Rider is looking forward to him to play in the upcoming season of Indian Premier League.
Shakib is not against playing the role of a finisher beside bowling or open the fighting in his periods at KRR in assurance of his place. He has only played for his domestic side in the Bangabandu T20 Cup since his ban over in October last year. He is not a regular in Kolkata Knight Rider team but he’s mostly seen as a backup option while in Sunrisers Hyderabad he only got to play three matches. Shakib said that it has an impact on overseas players to just sit in a game, but being an option has a positive outcome on him.
For two years in a row the Kolkata Knight Riders have missed the playoff, Shakib is positive that the team will make changes for this year's tournament. Kolkota Knight Riders have a strong spin lineup and some of them are Varun Chakvarhty, Sunil Narine, Kuldeep Yadav and the veteran Off spinner Harbhajan Singh.
Kolkata Knight Rider is set to kick start their match against Sunrisers Hyderabad in Chennai on April 11.
